It’s all about showing up!

What I am showing here is a small glimpse into my sketchbook practice.

One of my teachers said that the most important task for an artist is to be creatively active every day - ‘get moving!‘. So I made my way to the nearest art supply store and bought a sketchbook, which was actually a 250-page A5 notebook. I didn't really believe I would ever be able to fill it completely.

I ended up to filling three of these sketchbooks within 15 months with pencils, acrylic paint, collage, and notes, because I kept my promise to show up almost every single day.

I was amazed to discover how much these pages could tell me about my artistic practice.

Although I worked without any pretensions of artistic skill inside these books, I realized how my daily engagement with visual design built a close connection to my materials and my creative self.

This connection has become incredibly valuable to me.
